Ceramic Coating

An automobile is a major investment. For many people it’s their second largest expenditure next to their home. That’s why it’s important to protect automobiles you buy inside and out. Dust, dirt, mud, stone chips, bird dropping and debris that bounces up from the roadway can put dings and scratches on your vehicle and damage your paint job and wear and tear on the interior can make your vehicle look old and worn, mar its appearance and diminish its worth and resale value. What Are Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic coatings are clear, industrial strength, liquid, nano-ceramic coatings several layers of which can be applied to the interior and exterior, top and bottom of an automobile to protect it from oxidation, light scratches, corrosion, UV rays and wear and tear. The ceramic coatings go on as a clear liquid and once it cures, the coating bonds to the surface of the automobile and transforms itself into a permanent, durable, flexible, clear, shield. Some describe ceramic coatings as simply an additional clear coat. However, it has self-cleaning properties and is 3 times as hard as the automobile’s factory finish.

Exterior Ceramic Coatings

It’s possible to use ceramic coatings to provide permanent protection for a vehicle’s paint as well as its windshield, windows, wheels, rims and any other exposed areas. Ceramic coatings can also be used on plastic parts and on all painted surfaces of any vehicle. It can provide a protective top coat even on vehicles with their factory finish still intact. Not only can ceramic coatings protect the finish on new vehicles, it can also improve the look of older vehicles by adding a beautiful glossy finish over the paint. Interior Use Of Ceramic Coatings

Using ceramic coatings on the interior of an automobile can provide protection from the wear and tear on the seats, dashboard, console, door and roof liner, carpeting and mats caused by rugged day to day use. The ceramic coatings provide effective protection for interior surfaces made of leather, textile, plastic, wood and metal. No matter what elements are used in the interior of the vehicle, even the glass in the sunroof, coating them with this specially-designed ceramic covering can make them more durable and stain resistant without taking away from their comfort and attractiveness.

Wheel And Brakes

The wheels and brakes of automobiles can also be coated with this clear ceramic liquid. It can help to protect the tires, rims, wheels and brake calipers from the dust, dirt, detritus and brake dust that can make a vehicle look unsightly, cause the finish to begin breaking down and leave the paint job and metal parts scratched, faded and pockmarked. The process creates a more refined finish by reducing the visibility of or completely removing scuff marks from the paint’s surface layer. Correcting the imperfections in the paint job and adding a ceramic coat helps to give an automobile’s exterior a more refined finish. Often dust, oxidation, raspberries and scratches can wreak havoc on the factory finish and the protective coating and cause the paint on the vehicle to fade, crack or chip. Correcting the paint on the vehicle’s body can restore its looks, increase its trade-in or resale value and make it more attractive. Following that up with a coating of glossy, slick, self-cleaning clear liquid ceramic protects and hardens the paint job and makes it more durable.

Correcting issues on the surface of the paint and leveling it out often requires using an abrasive polish and a polishing machine to remove a small amount of the vehicle’s clear coat paint. When an experienced professional details the exterior of a vehicle, the process includes scrubbing the tires, rims and wheels with special soaps and brushes, rinsing them thoroughly and dressing, shining and protecting them with special oils or coating them with a clear ceramic liquid. The windows, roof, body, lights and grill are put through an intense level of cleaning using strong, but gentle detergents and degreasers. The exterior is then polished, waxed and sometimes covered with a layer of clear ceramic coating to protect the paint job, add extra glossiness and enhance the vehicle’s overall appearance.

Having The Interior Detailed

When specially trained, experienced, professionals detail the interior of an automobile, they vacuum, carefully wipe and steam-clean the entire cabin. That includes surfaces that are made of plastic, vinyl, leather, carbon fiber and natural fibers. They use detergents, shampoos and other cleansers that are specially selected to meet the specific needs of each vehicle. Once the entire cabin has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, top detailers often add a coating of clear, liquid ceramics to provide extra protection from dirt, spills and stains and to make the interior surfaces more durable and look more attractive.
